As a result of the meeting, we have revised the working definition to the following:

Transition age youth are described as being roughly between 16 and 24 who are facing a myriad of opportunities and challenges in becoming adults. These opportunities and challenges include issues related to living healthy lifestyles, developing the skills and resources for independent living, returning to their communities from institutional settings, becoming employable, participating in nurturing and supportive relationships, accessing needed services and treatment, and learning how to advocate for oneself.
