I am going to be making more use of this plugin and I have found it to be extremely helpful in the past. The original location for this plugin is down and has been for some time. The plugin was released under the GPL, and I am sharing it here for others to use. It is a great way to share source code and code snippets for various languages within a wordpress post and include the syntax and highlighting.
I was able to download the plugin here after finding the original host was gone.

So, I am treating myself (or my car?) to some upgrades! The CPE XCel Cold Air Intake and HKS Blow Off Valve, both from Street Unit! One of the club member’s is also in the process of upgrading the turbo in his MS6 to one that can take him past 450 crank horsepower, so I will be buying his ETS TMIC (Although I think the version he has is actually the 3.5″ vs the 3.25″). These three upgrades will put me pretty close to 300 HP at the crank. Although, with everything being on the intake side, these improvements might not be seen without at least the cat-back exhaust. My ultimate goal for the car is to see around 300 horsepower at the wheels. Very reasonable I would think with this platform. I might even be able to do it without a turbo upgrade, although I think it might be somewhere in my future. Time will only tell on this one!

… I learned in kindergarten!
1. Share everything.
Use open source where possible, and contribute to it when you are able. The collective wisdom of the entire community is better than the limited vision of a few large companies.
2. Play fair.
Give other technologies, frameworks, methodologies and opinions a chance. Don’t think your choices are the only ones that work. The other choices may very well be better than yours; it doesn’t hurt to check them out with an open mind.
3. Don’t hit people.
Like #2, don’t attack people just because they happen to use .Net or Java or PHP (I learned my lesson there!). Sometimes they might be more usable and useful than you think. You can learn a lot more from someone when you are not pounding them to a pulp. Read the rest of this entry »

This weekend was my first exposure to racing. I have long though NASCAR was kind of boring, and not entertaining. I also never much cared for Indy racing either. However, since I bought my Mazda I have gotten hooked on anything Mazda related. The Cleveland6Club which I am a member of, went down to the road coarse at Mid Ohio this past weekend. It was actually quite a lot of fun. I saw several races throughout the weekend, including the American Le Mans, Speed World Challenge TC (Touring Car), Honda 200 (Indy), and the Speed World Challenge GT (Grand Touring). I highly recommend it, even for those who are not highly into racing, or even heavily into cars. I ‘dragged’ my mother down for the entire weekend, and she had a blast!
Here are some pictures from the event:

Backup your /home and /var/www partitions and your entire MySQL Database in one fell swoop. Put this in a bash script and run it from the directory you would like to have the two tar files and the .sql file stored. (/backups maybe?). Just make sure you do NOT have it running from any place in /home or /var/www. It will get really angry at you when it tries to add the tar file you are creating to itself!
sudo mysqldump -u root -p –all-databases > mysql-`date +‘%F-%a’`-full.sql
sudo tar -cvvzf www-`date +‘%F-%a’`-tar.gz /var/www
sudo tar -cvvzf home-`date +‘%F-%a’`-tar.gz /home

Last weekend my sister graduated, with honors, from Ohio Business College. I am really proud of her, as we all are. Our mother was especially so. She went to school at night while working a full time (and then some) job. I just thought I would share a few pictures from that day. The first is Robin getting her diploma, the second is her and our mother looking at her diploma, and the last one is everybody at her house after the ceremony for food and drink! My mother, also has gone back to school, and will be getting her associates in social work this summer as well.
Now I just have to graduate! May 2008 here I come!
